Episode 9 of Toledo Works
In this episode of Toledo Works, Stephen Zenner discusses what it is like to maintain and promote the Metroparks Toledo system. He speaks with Lorenzo Melchor, the Park Services Manager who oversees day-to-day operations at Glass City Metropark; Ashley Smith, Manager of Public Programs; and Scott Carpenter, Director, Public Relations. From maintaining the Glass City Metropark skating ribbon to leading mindful polar plunges in winter, it is an eye-opening discussion of what makes our vast system of parks such an integral part of daily life for Toledoans.
Everywhere in Toledo, you’ll find people who play a role in making our city tick – from hospitals and factories to restaurants and art galleries – and behind every person is a story. Our program, Toledo Works, highlights those stories from workers’ firsthand accounts. Each week, Toledo Free Press hosts Jaden Jefferson and Stephen Zenner focus on a different topic within the Toledo workforce, exploring their day-to-day challenges and triumphs.
