Home Builders Association event hosts 800 students

BOWLING GREEN – The Home Builders Association of Greater Toledo and 34 of their partners welcomed over 800 high school students to the Wood County Fairgrounds for Build My Future, a one-day construction career event for high school students in northwest Ohio and the surrounding areas.

Interactive learning labs from businesses in the skilled trades and building industry provided students with hands-on opportunities to experience what their future career could look like. Student activities include immersive learning labs, equipment operation and educational displays.

Anchored by the mission “To encourage and motivate the youth in and around northwest Ohio to pursue a professional career in the skilled trades while promoting and raising awareness of the home building industry,” the HBA and supporting partners not only look to engage, but even provide immediate job opportunities.
