It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved daughter, sister and friend, and one of the brightest lights in our family, on November 11, 2025. Penny was just 16 days shy of her 71st birthday. She was the second oldest of six in our family. Penny's love for her family and attending family events always took precedent over all else. Penny's laughter would always fill any room; her shining outgoing personality brightened any and all events. A 1972 Bowsher High School graduate, Penny worked in the cardiovascular department at Toledo Hospital for 38 years. Penny had a great love for her many dogs, whether they be rescues or dogs she sought out, and her great talent for decorating the home she and her husband, Jimmy, built in 1996. There will be no measuring how Penny will be greatly missed by her family and all the lives she touched throughout her life.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Fulkerson; and her middle brother, Timothy Fulkerson; brother-in-law, Edward Klawitter; sister-in-law, Susan Moszkowicz. The love and memories Penny filled our hearts with will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, James Klawitter; step-daughter, Darcy Spence (John); her mother, Susanne M. (Pritts) Fulkerson; her siblings, Sally (Fulkerson) Harris (Ken), Thomas Fulkerson (Brenda), Julie (Fulkerson) Wasserman (Rick), Franz Fulkerson (Anne); brother-in-law, Ronald Klawitter (Margot); along with numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; life long friends, Joyce Ulmer-Brainard and Ruth Callihan; and her many friends and colleagues at Toledo Hospital. A private service celebrating Penny's life for the family will be held at a date to be determined.
