Paul Joseph Macino Obituary

Paul J. Macino, Toledo, Ohio, was born March 18, 1958 and passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was the fifth of seven children born to William and Helen (Lajti) Macino. From an early age Paul and his siblings worked in the family business, Macino Shoe Repair, where hard work and dedication were emphasized. He retired from the business when it closed in 2023. He will be remembered as a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, and as an avid Detroit Lions’ fan. Paul regularly enjoyed breakfast with friends at Mayberry Diner in Toledo and a Saturday dinner with a good glass of chianti.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by brothers, Al (Heidi), David, Mario and Chris (Jane) Macino; sisters Cassandra Macino, and Mary (Joe) Giacci; nieces, Amanda, Cristin, Nicole, Alexis, Victoria, Elena, and Jenny; and nephews, Anthony, Adam, Christopher, and AJ, and their spouses and children.

There will be a memorial mass at Christ the King Catholic Church on Friday, August 8 at 10:30am. The family will receive visitors starting at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or The Salvation Army.
