Melissa Anne Grogan passed away on July 14, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania, Ohio. Melissa was born on July 30, 1971, in Maumee, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas and Sue (Schuster) Grogan.

Melissa was gifted in mathematics and worked as an accountant. She also earned her massage therapy license. During her high school years, she enjoyed swimming and later participated in a mission trip to Egypt.

A devoted woman of faith, Melissa loved reading the Bible and memorizing Scripture. She had a deep compassion for animals and was a dedicated animal rights advocate, even participating in peaceful protests against the mistreatment of circus animals.

Melissa enjoyed playing the harp, spending time outdoors walking and biking, and making cherished memories with her family on trips to Pokagon State Park. She loved spending time with family and friends, staying up late to read, and sleeping in whenever she could.

Melissa will be remembered for her empathy, kindness, patience, and calm spirit. She had a special ability to sense when others were hurting and was always there to offer compassion and support.

Those she treasured most were God, her parents, her sister, Michelle, her nieces, Sara and Amira, and her many beloved friends and extended family. Her gentle heart and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Dr. Jennifer Grogan.

Melissa will be cremated, and her family will gather privately to celebrate her life.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter or Toledo Animal Rescue in honor of Melissa and her great love for all animals.
