Mary Lucy Borer, 90, of Tiffin, died at 5:38 pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her residence.

She was born September 18, 1934, in Tiffin, to Salvatore “Sam” and Dominica “Mica” (Famulare) SanGregory. She married James C. Borer July 16, 1955, in St. Mary Catholic Church. Jim died January 5, 2020.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Borer of Cincinnati and Tom (Cindy) Borer, of Batavia; a daughter, Cathy (Dick) Sliwinski of Westerville; nine grandchildren, Ciara, Vanessa, Nikki, Jon, Jeff, Drew, Maria, Robby, and Matthew; two great-grandchildren Finn and Lucy; a brother, John (Marge) SanGregory of Bellevue; and a sister, Christina SanGregory of Tiffin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Frank and Tony SanGregory.

Mrs. Borer was a 1952 Calvert High School graduate. She was a former telephone operator and also an advertisement inserter at the Advertiser-Tribune. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday September 8, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Jesse Chick, with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, St. Jude’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
