Obituary For Iris C. Poure
Iris Colleen Poure, age 88, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, after a brief illness. Iris was originally from Elkhart, Indiana and was the daughter of Ira (Steve), and Elizabeth (Betty) Kane.
Iris graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in education and taught elementary school and preschool music in her earlier years. Her real passion was interior design, and she was well known in the community for decorating homes throughout the area. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing tennis, and bowling. Iris was also an avid golfer, getting a hole in one at Sylvania Country Club.
Iris enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for awesome pool parties and celebrating the holidays. Iris had a passion for volunteering and giving back to others. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics, CASA, Ebeid Hospice, and Stephen Ministries.
Iris is survived by her children Tim (Julie), Kristen (Joel) Junga, Amy (Will) Roberts, and Angie (Dave) Ciotti; grandchildren; Adam (Meghan) Junga, Jordan (TJ) Hraback, Liza (Joe) Rogers, Mackenzie (Shawn) Rine, Kylie (Ricky) Cicco, Kyle (Jessie Grieve) Searer, Andrew Poure, Taylor Conway, Erica (Cliff) Fox, Paige (John) Miesle, Jameson Searer, and Kendall (Jansen) Besecker; and 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Robert (Bob) Kane.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals in the ER and MICU at UTMC, who took such good care of our mother. In addition, we want to thank all the caregivers in the memory care unit at Elizabeth Scott Community for the safe and loving home you provided her.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Monday, July 27th at Maison- Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH. A service celebrating Iris's life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mom's House of Toledo or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
