Obituary For Wayne Strock

Wayne V. Strock Jr, 83, of Walbridge, Ohio died Tuesday, November 21, 2023. However, Wayne
was really just his name on paper. Most people who knew him called him Whitey, Butch, or
Junior — though the latter was typically used by his late sister Marilyn.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 25, 1940 to Wayne and Margaret (Deshetler) Strock
Sr. as the second-oldest of his siblings. Growing up, he was known for his athletic abilities as
well as his affinity for getting into trouble; nothing too serious, but just enough to eventually
shock his grandchildren.

On June 24, 1961, that trouble-making was put to an end, as he married Suzanne F. Lenahan,
who he loved dearly. The pair spent 42 years together, raising two boys and spoiling their
grandchildren until Suzanne’s passing on April 13, 2003.

Whitey was a man who enjoyed the simpler things: hot dogs, football, and telling stories — of
which he had many. He never failed to make people laugh with his wild retellings of Strock
family gatherings or an observation said just a little too loud.

He loved his Detroit Lions, his cat Kuzco, and most of all, his family, who he supported through
all things in life without question.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Christopher (Linda) Strock and Brian (Stephanie) Strock;
grandchildren,Jenson (Anthony), Christopher, Abigail, Tanner, and Max; as well as his siblings
Mike (Peggy) Strock, Ron (Diane) Strock, and Theresa Ezerski. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Wayne and Margaret Strock; wife, Suzanne Strock; daughter, Tammy Strock; and
sister Marilyn (Terry) Lutz.

Wayne will be laid to rest at Lake Township Cemetery surrounded by close family. A celebration
of life will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Walbridge, Ohio.
