Walter S. Leichty, 68, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 17, 2023 at his home. He was born in Toledo on March 31, 1955 to Paul and Virginia (Parkin) Leichty.

Walter retired from Jeep in 2010 but never lost his love of vehicles. His favorite were muscle cars, and he could always be found in his shop tinkering and fixing up his truck. Walter enjoyed the little things in life, like his coffee from the time he woke up till he went to bed. He enjoyed sitting on the porch telling stories, some that may have been inappropriate, and watching “spooker movies”. He was an avid Ohio State football fan, never missing a game. But his favorite was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Walter was a hard worker, a loving father and grandfather, and a friend to all.

Walter is survived by his children, Jason (Kathryn), Stephen, Justin (Moondip), and Crystal Leichty; grandchildren, Riley Leichty, Kylie Fouty, and Adison Leichty; siblings, Anne (Kenny) Mills, Jeff (Patricia) Leichty, Sandra Hoskins, and John (Linda) Leichty; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Linda Klippstein.

Friends will be received at Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, Ohio on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm with a service at 5:00 PM. Memorial donations in Walter’s name may be made to his family. Online condolences may be left at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
