Obituary For Timothy "Tim" L. Donaho, Sr.

Timothy (Tim) Lawrence Donaho Sr, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away at the age of 85 on November 9, 2024 - choosing to ask his maker to take him home rather than endure another Trump presidency.

Tim was born September 28, 1939 in Canton, Illinois to the late Melvin and Lillian (Tozier) Donaho. Tim graduated from Havana (Illinois) High School in 1957. He served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD from 1958 – 1962. He married his wife Peggy (Sir Hendrey) on October 20, 1962. After he and Peggy’s separation from the US Navy, he was the Water Plant Superintendent for the City of Havana Illinois from 1964 – 1990. He moved to the Toledo Ohio area in 1991 to assist his brother Waldo’s greenhouse manufacturing business as he never met a mechanical challenge he couldn’t figure out and fix.

Tim was a loving father and grandfather and provided countless memories for all. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. He could not stand Jerry Jones because he fired Tom Landry, who he considered the greatest football coach of all time. He was also a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. He often wished Bob Gibson was still pitching to this day. Maybe he’ll see him pitching in heaven. Tim never held back his opinion and treated everyone equally.

Tim is survived by wife Peggy, sons Tim (Maureen) Donaho of Collinsville, Illinois, Robert Donaho of Armington, IL, Philip Donaho of Chattanooga, TN, and daughter Melissa (Sean) Cadaret of Perrysburg, Ohio. Also surviving are a sister, Virginia (Byron) Earhart of San Diego, CA, and a brother Terry (Eileen) Donaho of Havana, IL. Tim also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Bridget Donaho, Katherine Donaho, Timothy Lawrence Donaho III, Madison (Royce) Ryman, Dr. Amber (Abe) Music, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Waterman, Conor Donaho (Hannah Scheckel), Kenna (Justin) Webb, Benjamin Cadaret and Sophia Cadaret, and two great granddaughters, Liliana and Madilyn Music. Tim was preceded in death by three brothers: Melvin Donaho, Waldo Donaho, Kermit Donaho and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Donaho.

Pursuant to Tim’s wishes, the family will celebrate his life with a private service. Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Heart Association.
