Obituary For Thomas G. "Tom" Weber
Thomas Gerard “Tom” Weber, age 69, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on November 29, 2024 at Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 7, 1955 in Cleveland, OH. to Dareld and Antoinette Weber.
Tom was known as a hard worker and established several small restaurants over the years where he served his famous Chicago-style Vienna Beef hotdogs. Up until his passing, he still dreamed of owning another hotdog business. Other than this passion, Tom was always ready and willing to help anyone out. As they say, he’d ‘give the shirt off his back’ to help anyone. He had a great sense of humor and knew how to make his friends laugh. Tom also had an uncanny and unconventional way of thinking outside the box when dreaming up ideas of entrepreneurial ventures. He was certainly one-of-a kind and was well-loved by all who knew him.
Tom had an amazing recall for songs, album names, bands, and sports figures and scores – especially for the Detroit Tigers. He was thrilled when Jim Leyland visited him in the skilled nursing facility in June.
Tom was a 1973 graduate of Perrysburg High School. That same year he joined the United States Navy serving with the Seabees (Construction Battalion). He was stationed in Providence, RI, Roda, Spain, and also served in Vietnam.
Tom especially cherished his friendship with four of his PHS classmates: Tim Kazmaier, Dave Perry, Dave Rigg and Gary Stanford. They were there through thick and thin down to the last week visiting him and bringing him much joy.
The family would also like to thank Tom’s close friend and roommate Denny Yeupell. He was of much help after Tom’s stroke in May of this year. Denny went above and beyond in caring for Tom when family was not available. We are eternally grateful to Denny.
Tom is survived by his three children; Amie Weber, Kristopher Weber and Carly Weber, as well as their mother, Marina Weber, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Also surviving Tom are his sister Phyllis (James) McCoy of Papillion, NE., and brother Mark (Raquel) Weber of Perrysburg, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carol Evers, her husband Garry Evers, and sister-in-law Tammy Weber.
Funeral services and a Celebration of Life will be held next spring. Condolences may be made online to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
