Susan passed away on February 16, 2023, at home. She was born May 8, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio, to Julius and Alice Materni.

Susan graduated from Rossford High School in 1964, and then worked at St. Charles Hospital, in Medical Records for 2 years. She married Milton Hens on September 24, 1966, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2015, after 48 years of marriage. Susan enjoyed time spent with her family, going out to eat and going to the casino. Also, going to the UP of Michigan with Milton, and then, after his passing, on yearly vacations there with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jami (Greg) Rospert and Christopher (Ami) Hens; grandchildren, Loryn Koehler, Raychyl (Will) LaHote, Haylley Rospert, and Jamyson Rospert; great-grandchildren, Phyllana, Adalynn, Loranna, and Emily. Also, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Rita) Materni; and sister, Sally Rumer.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Milton; daughter, Mary Alice; parents, Julius and Alice Materni; brother and sister-in-law, Julius (Jeep) (Janet) Materni; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (Kenneth) Cluckey; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas (Bonnie) Materni; daughter-in-law, Tanja Hens; brother-in-law, Ronald Rumer; and loving niece and goddaughter, Wendi Rumer. She was also preceded by Milton’s sisters and their husbands, Patricia (Robert) Roszyk, Alicia (Leroy) Parke, and Joyce (William) Miscannon, and her in-laws, Nathan and Sally Hens.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford.
