Obituary For Rose Marie Knott
Rose Marie Knott, 80, of Clay Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2024. Born on May 15, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Eldon and Marie (Stewart) Ellis.
Rose was a remarkable individual who dedicated herself to lifelong learning, earning numerous degrees and certificates throughout her life. Her hands-on spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a bor-a-matic machine operator at Bunting-Brass-Bronze, where she worked for 11 years. She also served as a security guard at the Toledo Museum of Art, a position that allowed her to connect with many friends.
Music was a significant part of Rose's life; she loved playing the guitar and banjo, even performing with her band, Country Kin, alongside her husband and brothers. She also had a competitive side, enjoying countless games of pool with friends and family. A devoted sports fan, Rose cheered passionately for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Calvin Carpenter) Sass; her granddaughters, Deborah (Tre) Ossman and Kayleigh Rose Carpenter; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Lawrence Knott.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home - Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, Ohio 43616. Interment will follow at Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, Ohio.
In honor of Rose's memory, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
