Obituary For Roberta "Bobbi" Kirkman

Roberta Jean Kirkman, affectionately known as Bobbi, was born on August 19, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to her loving parents Robert Rose and Mary Pontius. She departed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home in Bowling Green, Ohio on February 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Bobbi's journey began in Toledo, where she graduated from Macomber – Whitney Cosmetology in 1963. She went on to a fulfilling career as a cosmetologist, bringing joy to her clients through her skill and creativity. Later in life, Bobbi transitioned to various roles, including working at Gymnastics International and Uptime Power Conversion Services serving as a secretary. She dedicated many years of service to the US Postal Service, retiring in 2010 after a successful career as a mail carrier.

Throughout her life, Bobbi embraced adventure and shared countless unforgettable moments with her beloved husband Joe. Together, they explored all 50 states, indulging in their shared love of golf along the way. One memorable bucket list item they checked off was visiting Niagara Falls, where they enjoyed a boat ride under the falls. Bobbi's passion for life extended beyond travel; she actively participated in community activities, including membership in Saint John XXIII Catholic Church, the Eagles, and various golf leagues. Her competitive spirit shone brightly as she achieved notable victories, including winning the Ma and Pa Bowling League, which earned her a well-deserved trip to Hawaii.

An accomplished cook, Bobbi delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends, who fondly remember her delicious creations. She found joy in simple pleasures, from cheering on the University of Michigan Wolverines to savoring chocolates and indulging in all varieties of ice cream. Bobbi's favorite color, purple, reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Above all, Bobbi cherished moments spent with her family, attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. Bobbi's kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her. She especially treasured her weekly Mexican restaurant date nights with her beloved husband, Joe, creating cherished memories together over their shared love for good food and each other.

Bobbi is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Rose, her brother, James Rose, and sister, Mary Kaminski. She is survived by her brother, Howard (Pat) Rose, her loving husband, Joseph Kirkman Sr., her beloved dog, Bear of 13 years, their daughters, Christina (Bill) Seiple and Kimberly (Robert) Seeberger, sons, Joseph Jr. (Veronica) and James Kirkman, along with 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and cherished family friends John (Esther) Copobianco.

In honoring Bobbi's memory, let us celebrate her life, legacy, and the profound impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
