Robert “Bob” Louis Merritt, 69, of Oregon, Ohio passed away in his home Monday, December 11, 2023 after a long battle with a cancer that was as rare as he. He was a strong fighter who gave everything and everyone his all.

Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 8, 1954 to Franklin and Irene Merritt. He married his wife, Deborah (Sinkovic) in 1977, and together they raised two children, Matthew and Kimberly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his family above all else. He’s a Jeep retiree who also enjoyed perch fishing, trips to Las Vegas, the Cleveland Browns, and spinning quarters at Hollywood Casino.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deborah; brother, Douglas (Shelly); son, Matthew; daughter, Kimberly (Joe); dog, Kobe; and granddaughter, Zoey, who brought so much joy to him during his most difficult moments.

Bob and his family would like to thank Dr. Phinney and staff at The Toledo Clinic for their help throughout his battle. Friends will be received at Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, Ohio on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 PM.
