He leaves behind his beloved wife of 69 years, Mae Kyser; children, Bob Kyser (Peggy Shirley) of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Greg Kyser (Jennie) of Charlotte, North Carolina, John Kyser (Margie) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Carol Wagner (Jason) of Sylvania, Ohio. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dick’s early years were spent in Beaver County, Pennsylvania where he attended Bologne Valley School, a one-room school house in North Sewickley, followed by New Brighton High School, graduating in 1950. He furthered his education at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, earning a degree that paved the way for a successful engineering career.

Professionally, Richard began his career at the American Bridge Division of the United States Steel Corporation during the construction of the Mackinac Bridge. Later, he transitioned to the glass industry, working as an industrial engineer at Jeannette Glass, Thatcher Glass, Brockway Glass, and finally retiring from Owens-Illinois in 1995.

Richard and his wife, Mae, were long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellwood City. His personal life was filled with joy from his hobbies, which included supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, playing and coaching softball in his younger years, reading, playing cards, and his love for animals.
