Obituary For Renee M Morelock

Renee M. Morelock died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 26, 2023. She was born to her parents, Robert, and Jacqueline (Hess) Busch in Toledo, Ohio on November 5, 1949. She and her siblings grew up in Perrysburg Township and the Rossford area and she graduated from Rossford High School in 1967. She met her future husband, Joseph Morelock, through a group of friends and she married him, the love of her life, in July of 1968.

Renee had a gentle and compassionate personality and she expressed that with her work at Harborside Health Care. She served in retirement centers, helping with life enriching activities for seniors. She had many special friends both young and old, and everyone who knew her will miss her dearly. Her famous one liners kept everyone laughing.

Most important to Renee was family. She loved to attend every school and sporting event, cheering as her grandchildren’s biggest fan. Known as Mom, Aunt Re, or Nana, she would not turn down a chance to go to lunch at Olive Garden or chat on the phone. Casino trips, Bingo halls, fishing with family and attending church were all close to her heart.

Family gatherings would almost always include Renee’s famous Jell-O and the holidays would not be complete without her fruitcake that was regifted year after year. Legend has it that it had to be cut with a chainsaw!

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Marilyn Ilconich, Linda (Ron) Ruch, Bob (Jan) Busch, Garry (Dianne) Busch; children, Kim (Matt) Calaway, Kelli Schultz; grandchildren, Trent (Julie) Morelock, Erin (Chris) Cooper; great grandchildren, Christina Cooper, Roman Cooper, Liam Morelock; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death, husband, Joseph Morelock; Robert (Jackie) Busch; and brother-in-law Paul Ilconish.

Family and friends will be welcome for a visitation on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home (830 Lime City Road) from 2 pm – 8 pm. Visitation will continue at Lutheran Church of the Master (28744 Simmons Rd, ) on Wednesday, August 30, from 10 am – 11 am, with a funeral service beginning at 11 am. Interment will immediately follow at New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Lutheran Church of the Master or donor’s choice.
