Obituary For Nancy Elizabeth Cornell
Nancy Elizabeth Cornell (Damon), 70 years old, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 after her valiant fight with Stage 4 metastatic Breast Cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering Faith in God and the love & prayers of family and friends carried her through. Nancy’s unwavering faith in God, her belief in the power of positivity, boundless love and her dedication to giving back to others will always be remembered. She leaves behind a remarkable example of a life filled with love, resilience, and faith.
Nancy was born on March 30, 1954 in Adrian, Michigan to Calvin Damon and Luella (McLain) Damon and was the middle child of six. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation, even with total strangers. Everyone was a friend. She possessed a contagious smile and a sweet demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Family was important to Nancy and she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to travel and to her, even small trips were grand adventures.
After graduating Sand Creek High School, Nancy later went on to be a Registered Nurse. She spent most of her career working on psychiatric floors, caring and advocating for people with mental health conditions. Before her retirement, Nancy used her skills to mentor and teach. Her natural gift was always serving people, which was exemplified through her mentoring and sharing the wisdom and experience that she gained over the years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Cheri (Kraig) Kent and Holli Stetten; her five grandchildren, Nichole (Nicholas) Homziak-Stetten, Sarah Dumas, Mary Kent, Anna Kent and Nathan Kent; her siblings, Shirley Goodspeed and Gerald Damon and other beloved family members & friends, which are too many to count. Preceded in death were her parents; siblings Harold Damon, Dwayne Damon and Carolyn Rumisek; her sister-in-law, Shelia Damon and brother-in-law, Karl Goodspeed.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Mason-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537, Phone 419-614-6741 from 4-7pm followed by a funeral service at 7pm.

Yet, beyond financial donations, Nancy always lived by the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated i.e. Do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a card, give a hug, or say, “I love you” in her memory.
