Maude M. Monk, 53, of Toledo, Ohio died Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Toledo Hospital. She was born in Toledo on November 24, 1970, to Goldie Monk and John Ellsworth.

Maude was a beautician and had a remarkable skill for enhancing the natural beauty of her clients, leaving behind a trail of smiles wherever she went. Her warmth and genuine care for others made her not just a hairstylist, but a cherished confidante and friend to many.

Beyond her work in the salon, Maude found joy in working at Subway, where she brightened the days of customers with her friendly demeanor and impeccable service. Her dedication to her job was matched only by her love for her family.

Maude found her greatest happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished moments spent fishing, cookouts with loved ones, and found immense joy in celebrating the birthdays of her grandchildren. To Maude, family was everything. Her children and grandchildren held the most significant places in her heart. Her love for her family will be remembered fondly and cherished forever.

She is survived by her children, Jack C. “JC” Monk (Lila) and Candice N. Monk (Michael Robert); grandchildren, Maleea, MaKenize, Jack Jr, Jaden, Izabella, Jaelyn, Amiyah, Jazlynn, Juliette, Jessika, and Jack III; sister, Mary Busler; brothers, John, Allen, and Billy. She is preceded in death by her grandson, baby Jack; parents; sister, Nancy; her children’s fathers, Robert Leonard, and Robert Leffer.

A celebration of Maude's life will be held on June 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM at Navarre Park in Toledo. Where friends and family will gather doing what Maude loved most, cooking out and being with loved ones.
