Obituary For Marylou Schade
Marylou Schade, beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Mema), and dedicated schoolteacher passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 72, after a sudden illness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Marylou was born to parents Clarence and Blanche Seaver, on November 3, 1950, in Guam, which held a special place in her heart throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Seaver, sister Lynne Hodges and daughter-in-law Cheryl Schade. She is survived by her brother Ronald Seaver, sister Michelle Denson (Johnnie), sister-in-law Sue Seaver, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Marylou's love story with her devoted husband, Daniel Schade, spanned many years filled with precious memories. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them, showcasing the true meaning of partnership and love.
Marylou was the loving mother of three children: Candace Odenweller, Brad Odenweller (Julie), and Catrina Odenweller-Haas (Matthew), and a Stepmother to Daniel Schade Jr. and Tamara Jacquot (Don). As a mother, she always put her children's needs above her own, providing them with unwavering support and guidance. Marylou's dedication to her family extended beyond her immediate children. She was a proud and doting Mema to her seven grandchildren: Trey, Makenah, Jace, Blake, Braylie, Grayson, and Grady who brought immense joy to her life.
Throughout her career, Marylou made a profound impact as a dedicated schoolteacher, spending most of her time at Northwood Local Schools. She was a firm believer in the power of education and its ability to change lives. Her passion for education was evident in the way she nurtured and inspired countless young minds over the years. Marylou's commitment to her students went beyond the classroom as she believed in instilling not only knowledge, but also the values of kindness, respect, and empathy.
Marylou's life was shaped by her experiences as a military BRAT growing up in different parts of the world due to her father's service. This upbringing fostered in her a deep appreciation for diversity and an ability to adapt to new environments with grace and resilience. She was also a proud military mom, always offering immense support to her daughter Catrina and son-in-law Matthew throughout their careers in the Air Force.
Outside of her professional and family life, Marylou enjoyed gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, and taking walks with her dogs Cassie and Cody who were her constant companions. Spending quality time with her loved ones, creating memories that will forever be treasured, is what she truly lived for.
Marylou Schade will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, and all those whose lives she touched. Her unwavering love and compassionate nature will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. Though she may be gone, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
May Marylou Schade rest in eternal peace knowing that her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 2:00-5:00 PM, at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fremont, Ohio. The family will be gathering for a time of fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced at the memorial service.
