Obituary For Jordynn Ann Way

Our beautiful princess walked right into Jesus’ arms on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 9. She lived longer, smiled brighter, and brought more joy than anyone could have estimated.

Jordynn Ann Way was born on January 25, 2015, to Joshua and Jenna (Skay) Way. Her two big brothers, Jaden and Joseph, were her biggest protectors immediately. She supported them by attending all their events from SJJ Band or Hockey and looked forward to cheering them on.

Loving the spotlight, Jordynn was the center of attention right away! She brought joy to countless people. Strangers, family, friends, teachers and caregivers were smitten with her smiles and laughter. When chaos ensued at home, with her dogs, cats, a hockey game, or at school, she loved it. Her look told you everything you needed to know. A pouty face for her dad when she wanted her way, a side eye for annoyance or complete peace when she would curl up with mom and her two kitties and rest.

For Jordynn, the pool was her place to be free. With her floaty keeping her head above water, the freedom and room to kick and swim were all hers. That momentary independence was priceless. She was the biggest fan of hockey, The Toledo Walleye, The Toledo Mobsters, The Toledo Cherokee, and looked forward to cheering on her brother at St. Johns Hockey this season.

Attending DeVeaux for the past three years, Jordynn had so many friends who adored her. Her closest friend Kenzie had similar abilities, and they did everything they could together after meeting at Rehab Dynamics. Rehab Dynamics played a crucial role from the beginning, as well as her doctors and staff.

Her love and life will continue to live on through her family. Cherishing Jordynn’s memory, her mother, Jenna Way; father, Joshua Way; brothers, Jaden and Joseph Way; grandparents, Lauri (Daniel) Cummingham, Lon Skay, William (Crystal) Way, and Ron and Judy Grubinski; aunts and uncles, Courtney Way, Samantha Way, Jocosa Way, April McCally, Deanna (Stephen) Swanbeck, Tommy (Rosie) Skay; and a host of extended family and friends.

A time of visiting will be held at Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania) on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm with a service on Saturday, August 31, 2024, beginning at 11 am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.

Please wear Jordynn’s favorite color purple to celebrate her life and light she shined so brightly.
