Obituary For John Vrablic, Jr.

John J. Vrablic, Jr., affectionately known as "Junior," age 78, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024. Born on April 17, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, John was the beloved son of Genevieve (Jablonski) and John J. Vrablic, Sr., who preceded him in death.

John devoted 38 years of his life to the railroad industry, working as an engineer. His expertise was in assembling and attaching train cars, ensuring safe and efficient trips. His dedication to his craft was matched by his passion for his conifer garden, a remarkable creation that earned recognition from the Smithsonian. His garden stands as a unique treasure in the U.S., and through his website, rossfordgarden.com, John shared the beauty of his work with those unable to visit in person.

In addition to his railroad career and horticultural achievements, John served his community as a city tree commissioner, where he was instrumental in planting trees and shrubs throughout Rossford, reflecting his deep love for nature. His commitment to service extended to his faith as well; he was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church and served as an altar boy at St. Mary Magdalene during his youth.

John is survived by his brother Marty Vrablic and his sister Mary (Noel) Goulston. He will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and the many lives he touched through his work and dedication to his community.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, Ohio on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd, Rossford on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
