Obituary For John R. Brebberman

John R. Brebberman, 56, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, Sept 5, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic. He was born August 24, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Anne (Davis) Brebberman.

John grew up in South Toledo and attended Maumee High School. He remained a dedicated fan of Maumee’s football team.

He worked at Toledo Coin Exchange for 15 years. There he gained his expertise in the field of coins and precious metals. In 2023, he became co- owner of Glass City Coins. This achievement was a dream come true and a great source of pride for him.

John was an outgoing person with a big heart and kind spirit. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Among his favorite activities were game nights, golf leagues, poker nights, fishing, fantasy football, going to the movies, playing guitar around a fire, and shared meals. He was also an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football fan.

He was a generous man who would do almost anything to help friends, family, or just about anyone who asked. John was just great fun to be with thanks to his hearty laugh and great sense of humor. He was a big presence in both size and personality. He was the favorite uncle to his nieces, nephews, and the children of friends. He was surrounded by a close-knit circle of dear friends whom he considered his “framily.” His loss leaves an ache in the hearts of many people. We are saddened beyond words by his passing.

He is survived by his siblings, Lynn (David Cislo) Brebberman and Howard (Amber Rathburn) Brebberman; nieces and nephews Tyler Brebberman, Connor Cislo, Emily Mullany, Kelsey Brebberman and Morgan Brebberman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Brebberman.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-614-6698). Consider wearing a tee with your favorite team or favorite fun graphic. John would love it! Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to Panther Pride Foundation.
