Obituary For Jeanette L. Lentz
Jeanette L. Lentz, 82, of Oregon, and formerly of Curtice, Ohio, passed away at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, on Friday, September 6, 2024, after a lingering illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on November 26, 1941, to Harry and Thelma “Betty” (Carr) Reuss and spent most of her life in Ottawa County. She was a 1959 graduate of Oak Harbor High School where she played softball and was a cheerleader. While in high school, she met Gerald W. Lentz and on February 13, 1960, they married in Bono, Ohio.
Jeanette was a school bus driver for the Genoa Area Local Schools for 22 years, retiring in 2000, a job she truly enjoyed. Sports were a special part of her life, not only for her in high school, but watching and rooting on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed her sons, granddaughter or great-granddaughters’ events, with Gerald by her side. Jeanette enjoyed playing card games and dominos with friends and family. She was very competitive and never wanted to lose a game. She square danced for many years with Gerald and they were members of the Western Square Dancing Club.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Gerald, son, Michael G. (Jane) Lentz, granddaughter, Jillian (Chris) Brandt, great grandchildren, Emma & Adalynn Brandt and brother, William (Gayle) Reuss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Betty Reuss son, Daniel J. Lentz, and brother, John Reuss.
Services will be private. Those wishing to make a contribution in her name are asked to consider St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio. Online condolences may be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home of Genoa, Ohio is assisting with arrangements.
