Obituary For James Robert Elliott "Senior"
James Robert Elliott “Senior”, aged 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born on December 4, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Elsie Nassar and Robert LaVon Davis Elliott and brother to Judy Meyer (Elliott).
He is a 1960 graduate of Maumee High School where he played football. Shortly after, he began working at Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company where he worked as a regulator for over 30 years until retirement. Jim was an active member in the Maumee Little League where he served as a coach for over 25 years.
Becky was the love of his life. They met when they were in grade school and started dating in high school. They married August 21, 1965 and over the course of a 57 year marriage left a legacy we all celebrate today.
Jim and Becky raised 3 sons, Jim (Kara), Greg (Krista), Doug (Jackie) and consider Donald (Amey) McGlenn their 4th. He was proud of his family and loved dearly his grandchildren, Derek, Samantha, Noah, Lucca, Santino, Pia Rose, Hadley, Ethan, Victoria, Hudson, Camryn and Bailey.
We are so grateful for the life-long friendship and support from all friends at Dino’s Family Restaurant. At Dino’s, there’s always a large table in the corner filled with friends who gather and enjoy food together. It’s that laughter and support Senior needed as he navigated life without Becky.
We take peace and comfort in the thought that he passed on All Souls Day and is resting in peace, eternally embraced by the love of the heavenly Father…and reunited again with Becky listening to “Unchained Melody”, their song, that played and called him home that day.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Monday, November 25 at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home (501 Conant St., Maumee, Ohio). Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, November 26, at Maumee United Methodist Church (405 Sackett St. Maumee, Ohio) with a luncheon immediately following. For family and friends unable to attend in person, livestream will be available at: https://youtu.be/uEzonpHvG_U
