Obituary For James L. Ford

James L. Ford, 78, passed away after a courageous fight against Small Cell Lung Cancer on August 14, 2023, surrounded by his family at Northwest Hospice Center in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born on May 29, 1945, to Harold L. and Roselyn V. Ford in Toledo, Ohio.

Jim graduated from Johnson High School in Yokota, Japan in 1963 while his father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. He later served in the U.S. Air Force from July 1965 to July 1969 as a Communication Specialist and served in Okinawa and Austin, Texas. After being discharged from the service, he worked at different jobs during his life, but he retired after 30 years of working at the Chrysler Jeep Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio. He loved spending time with his family, golfing, and trips to the casino whether it was in Las Vegas or closer to home.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years and love of his life, Linda K. Ford and brothers, Dennis (Deb) Ford, Harold (Karen) Ford, Dave (Sue) Ford, and Kevin (Lori) Ford and sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Patterson and Mary (Edward) Westerman. He is also survived by his children, Milissa (James) Ford-Charter, James P. (Brandy) Ford, Micheal (Marcie) Keyes, and Dawn Blair; grandchildren, Kenneth (Hunter), Austin (Abigail), and Adrianna Charter, Patrick and Bryton Ford, Brandon Blair, Ashley, Jacob, and Jordan Keyes; great grandchildren, Anthony, and Aubrey along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael Ford, and sisters, Catherine Ford, and Teresa Gravengaard.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio at the Toledo and Perrysburg Inpatient locations for the loving and respectful care they gave Jim and the family.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a different date. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to Delta American Legion Post #373 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
