Jadyn Kai Shipp, 21, of Toledo, OH passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 23, 2024 in Toledo, OH. He was born on April 26, 2003 in Toledo, OH to Gina Sarnes and Vernon (Strawberry) Shipp. Jadyn was also affectionately known as “Jay” and “Kai”. He graduated from the Maritime Academy of Toledo in 2021. He had just started a new job with Amazon Distribution Center in Rossford, OH. Jadyn enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons, online gaming, drawing, whittling, eating good food, and spending time with his friends. Even though his closest friends were spread across states they would spend hours chatting together. Jadyn was goofy and fun loving. He would sing at the most random times, answered “ye” instead of “yes” to questions, and was always known for his oddball conversations. He was his mom’s big “panda” bear and the only grandchild that called his grandma “grandmother”. Jadyn would always help when called on, from putting in boat docks with his grandpa, pup sitting while others were away, to helping in any way he could with his little sisters. He was always there.

Jadyn is survived by his mother, Gina (Randy Arnold) Sarnes, father, Vernon (Tanya) Shipp, siblings, Michael, Emma, Raylynn, Jasmin, and Chris, maternal grandmother, Maria Artiaga, maternal grandfather, Dave Sarnes, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and his best friends, “THE GUYS” . He was preceded in death by his aunt, Emily Saas.

A celebration of life for Jadyn will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Jadyn may be given in care of the family.
