Herbert “Sam” C. Griner, 89, passed away August 10, 2023 at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on June 1, 1934 to Earl and Cora (Snyder) Griner. Sam married his sweetheart, Phyllis Wamer on April 14, 1956 and have spent 67 years together.

Sam honorably served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Ed Schmidt Pontiac as a parts manager and served as a past president of the Toledo area Parts Managers Club. Sam enjoyed working in hardware after retirement, always staying busy.

Sam is survived by his wife, Phyllis Griner; sons, Gary, Roger (Kimberly) and Kenneth Griner; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jon-Alan) Shrewsbery, Brittany (John) Krock, Samantha (Justin Sawmiller) Griner and Cory Griner; great grandchildren, Ivy Krock and Alessi Sawmiller; sisters-in-law, Kate Warns, Lila Younkin and Patti Schinharl, brothers-in-law, Larry (Mary) , Dan (Carol) Ike (Jo) and Rex(Dorothy) Wamer; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Howard Griner and Sheila Lee; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
