Obituary For Frank D. Tammarine

Frank (Danny) Tammarine, affectionately known to many as “Buzz”, 79, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away March 10, 2025. He was born July 9, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Bernadine (Huber Royce) Tammarine.

Frank was one of twelve in a large Italian family who lived in Sylvania, Ohio, where he graduated from Northview High School. In 1965, Frank married his beloved wife Candace (Candy) Dodds of Bedford, Michigan, who passed in May 2020. Frank and Candy lived, worked, and raised their children in Perrysburg, Ohio. Frank was the long-time owner of Fort Meigs Barbershop. Without a doubt, he was happiest serving the community. From kids to cops to every local, Frank had a reputation as Perrysburg’s best barber, and he took full advantage of the captive audience to build not only customers but friends, tagged with his signature nickname “Buzz”. Frank’s superpower was his unwavering, unfiltered self. If he was your friend, he was your best friend; if he was your enemy, you had no worse enemy. Frank would invite you to live with him in times of need and just as quickly rearrange your nose if you crossed him or a loved one. Family was first for Frank. He was the captain and unwavering supporter of our family, our sports teams, our power hours, our everything.

Frank (Danny) Tammarine is survived by his sons, Keith Tammarine (Tammy), Dean Tammarine (Melissa), and Don Oswalt; granddaughters, Sydney Tammarine (Ian), Evelyn Segura (Derek), and Gabi Tammarine; and grandson, Ellis Tammarine. He is also survived by his brothers, Tony Tammarine, Chris Tammarine, Matt Tammarine, and Joe Tammarine; sisters, Christina Butler, Dora Sierra, Rita Hoff, Lucy Flores, Diane Fouts, and Rosie Dunlap; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bernadine Tammarine; his wife, Candace Tammarine; his brothers, Mike Tammarine, Noel Tammarine, and Jerome Tammarine; and his sisters, Paula Wallace, Angie Tammarine, and Mary Simon.

Visitation will take place in Perrysburg at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home on Friday, March 14 from 3–7PM. Funeral services will take place in Perrysburg at Witzler-Shank-Walker on Saturday, March 15 at 2PM, followed by a graveside service at Fort Meigs Cemetery and a memorial wake at Keith and Tammy Tammarine’s house. Frank’s request was that everyone celebrate his life and the man he was. All food and drink will be provided; please bring your memories and stories. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nature’s Nursery.
