Obituary For Frank Albert Beier
Frank Albert Beier, 79, of Perrysburg, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. Frank was born September 17, 1944 in Fremont, Ohio to Paul and Anna Catherine (Gompert) Beier. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He met the love of his life, Lynnette Marie Haney on a blind date and they were married on November 4, 1967. Frank and Lynnette shared 41 beautiful years together until she passed on December 3, 2008. Lynnette was diagnosed with MS in 1971 and Frank stood by her side through her life long battle with the disease. His faith and commitment to his bride and the church is evident in the family he leaves behind.
Frank worked as a Technical Director for Owens Corning for thirty plus years. He then worked for the City of Toledo during the Y2K updates and finished his career as Technology Director for the Diocese of Toledo. He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Rose Catholic Church where he was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Frank loved coaching his kids in baseball and basketball and enjoyed umpiring girls’ softball games. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors and Lady Evelyn Lake backcountry of Canada. It was this love for the outdoors where Frank made the greatest impact on his friends and family who shared in his passions. Frank truly was a fisher of men and this is evident in the friendships he built and sustained for nearly five decades. Of the men Frank shared fellowship with in the great outdoors, his original crew of men (Bruce, Bob, Steve, and Ron) have all earned their heavenly rewards. Frank’s last good friend and crew member, Deacon Brent Bertke will co-officiate his mass and burial.
Frank is survived by his children; Andrew (Heidi) Beier, Charles Paul (Sue) Beier, Frank (Kathy) Beier, Jr., and Tiffany (Matt) Kolinski; grandchildren, Morgan, Nolan, Kaitlin (Tyler), Chas (Kaitlyn), Alex, Madison, Nick, Zach, Abby, Madelyn, and Will; great-granddaughters, Karlyn and Charlie, and another great-grandchild on the way; sisters, Susanna (Joe) Bour, Constance (John) Angus, brother, Ron Beier and the second love of his life, Carolyn Dickman. Along with his wife, Lynnette, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Cheryl Beier.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 2-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where a Knights of Columbus Service will be at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, with burial to follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to The MS Foundation or St. Rose Catholic Church.
