Obituary For Ethel Mae Esmond

Ethel Mae Esmond, 90, of Toledo, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 7:06 p.m. She was born in McCall, LA to Ben and Orelia (Bibbs) Campbell on May 20, 1934. Ethel was a well-known registered pharmacist that worked at various locations over the years including St. Charles Hospital. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and more recently a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. She volunteered her time to Meals on Wheels and enjoyed reading her bible and daily devotions. Ethel was a strong woman who enjoyed keeping regimen routines, and schedules. Ethel was also known to be feisty at times, with a strong determination to get things done. With that determination she is a breast cancer survivor, which she overcame years ago. Ethel enjoyed her red seedless grapes, ice cold Diet Pepsi, and her favorite, M&M’s peanut candies. Her life was a living example of Bible verse 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Kimberlee (Keith Allan Howell) Hubbard-Howell, 2 grandchildren, Seth Thomas Howell, Noel Christian Howell, and many cherished friends.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 11 am-12 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. The Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm in the funeral home. Ethel will be laid to rest in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you may make a donation to The Alzheimer’s Association in Ethel’s name, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17. Chicago, IL 60601, or at https//www.act.alz.org.
