Obituary For Elizabeth Ann Solomon
Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Solomon was born June 15, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio and passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her life Beth showed remarkable strength and selflessness and was truly a force to be reckoned with.
In her 20s she worked as an office administrator for a law firm in Toledo, which is where she met her husband Joe who described it as love at first sight. Beth and Joe enjoyed attending concerts, golfing, going to dinner, and traveling. They married in 1987 and had three children: Alex, Hannah, and Joe III.
Known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Buddy,” there was nothing Beth loved more than her family. She took pride in being the caretaker of her family and consistently put the needs of her family before her own, which did not go unnoticed. When she wasn’t making a daily breakfast, packing school lunches, or cooking one of her amazing dinners, Beth was busy attending her children’s sporting events and dance recitals. She never missed a game or performance and could always be heard over the crowd.
Aside from being a mom and wife, Beth enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time at their lake house on Lake Columbia. Beth loved it when her kids' friends would visit the lake house. They shared many laughs on the back patio and around the fire pit and loved late night dance parties on the boat.
Beth was the rock of her family, and her presence will be deeply missed. We will miss her constant love, support, sarcasm and of course, her cooking.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of more than 37 years, Joseph Solomon Jr.; daughters, Alex and Hannah; and son, Joseph Solomon III; siblings, Jerry, Kathy, Mary, Judy, Susie, and Bill; sister-in-law, Marty and Cathy; and countless nieces and nephews; but no grandchildren (lol, sorry mom).
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Dorothy Marchal; her husband’s parents, Joseph Sr. and Lucy Solomon; brother, David Marchal; nephews, Eric Misejka and Luke Hassen.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a ceremony to share Beth’s story and celebrate her life at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
Contributions in her name are suggested to the ProMedica Cancer Institute of Perrysburg or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
