Obituary For Donald W. Gribble
Don Gribble, 93, of Lakeside, Ohio passed away on October 8, 2024. He was born in Logan, Ohio to George and Elizabeth Gribble. Don graduated from Logan High School and attended Capital University. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Don was a sharp businessman who managed Tansky Automotive for many years, and was the founder and owner of Gribble Chevrolet, Inc. in Athens, Ohio for over 23 years.
He never met a stranger and had a great zest for adventure in his life, owning different toys over the years, including a small airplane in which he loved to fly friends and family to different places. Don was an active member of Kiwanis for 47 years, and a devout parishioner of the Methodist Church for most of his life.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Gribble. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Anita (Adcock) Gribble, daughters Kimberly Gribble and friend Sheila Smith, Melissa McManaway and grandchildren Jessica (John) Miller and Chris McManaway, Lisa (Brian) Schenck and grandchildren Megan and Ben, Donna (Mark) Seevers and grandchildren Ashlee and Kayla, Betsey (Chris) Langford and grandchildren Carson and Makenna Langford, as well as 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19 at the Lakeside United Methodist Church, 450 Central Avenue, Lakeside, Ohio. Visitation will be from 9:30-11, with the service at 11. Private burial will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Twp.
