Obituary For Donald E. Valtin
Donald E. Valtin passed away on October 22, 2024. Born August 3, 1936, in Buffalo, NY.
After graduating from high school in Advertising Arts, he began a long and successful career in designing retail print advertising in the Buffalo area. Moving from Buffalo to Chicago and eventually Toledo. He retired in 2001 after 27 years as Director of Advertising for Seaway Food Town. Don was a member of the Toledo Artists Club's “Monday Morning Painters,” a group of talented local artists who got together each Monday to socialize and paint throughout the area.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years; Theresa Valtin; daughters, Jacqueline (Steve) Kowalski, Elizabeth (Michael) Pawlecki, and Kathleen Valtin; and son, James (Renee) Valtin. He was most proud of his eight granddaughters, Katie (Nathan) Woos; Michelle, Jennifer and Colleen Kowalski; Emily, Claire and Amanda Pawlecki; and Madysen Valtin; and great grandchildren, Zoe and Will Woos.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St, Maumee, OH. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph’s Church or to a charity of your choice.
