Obituary For Dennis Michael Seymour

Dennis Michael Seymour, age 68, passed away at his home in Perrysburg, OH, on February 2, 2025. Born on December 4, 1956, in Oakland, CA, to Edgar Seymour and Joan (McGulivery), Dennis was a devoted husband to Sandra (Hykes) Seymour, to whom he was married for 29 wonderful years.

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1976 to 1986, beginning his journey in California, and being stationed in Germany, Panama, and back to California. During his service, he served with distinction as Military Police.

After his military service, Dennis transitioned to become a Cyber Security specialist. A passionate educator, he helped prepare the next generation of cyber security experts and authored articles and books on the subject. He earned the prestigious CLSSP designation in cyber security and was honored with numerous awards, including the Police Officer of the Year and the Department of Veterans' Affairs Service Award.

Dennis found immense joy in spending time with his family and was a dedicated fan of the Toledo Walleye Hockey team. His passion for the sport extended to photographing games and collecting jerseys. He also enjoyed woodworking and indulging in sushi, Swedish Fish, lasagna, and seafood.

He will be greatly missed and remembered for his positive attitude, vigor for life, and care for others. His strong connection with the Toledo Walleye and his unwavering kindness and love for his family will remain in our hearts forever. Dennis's legacy of giving, happiness, strength, and positivity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.

Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Seymour; and brother in law, Ed Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Seymour; mother, Joan Ryan; sisters, Mary Thompson, Ginny (Wally) Hartin and Carol Pond; son, Daniel Seymour; stepdaughters, Rebecca (Rodney) Theis, Amanda (Steve) Hornyak and Sherrie Debruyne; grandchildren, Courtney, Bryant, Chelsea, Megan, Olivia, Margaelyn, Hannah, Ashlyn, Madelyn and Nate; and great grandchildren, Kameron, Rowan, Vivian and Callan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 2:30 until the time of the funeral service including full military honors at 5:30 pm in the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary St, Perrysburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pancreatic Cancer Research and Tunnel to Towers.
