Obituary For David M. Beckwith
David Morgan Beckwith, 86, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on March 21, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1938, in Lorain, Ohio, to David and Sally (Morgan) Beckwith. He was their only child.
Dave was a remarkable man, and his life was defined by hard work, adventure, and above all, kindness. Dave was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went, never meeting a stranger. He was known for his laughter, his stories, and his ability to remember the smallest details of everyone’s life. It didn’t matter where you were from or where you were going — if you crossed paths with Dave, you left with a little more joy, a little more light in your heart.
From his years at DePaul University and Case Western Law to his over 30 years as a corporate litigator at Bethlehem Steel, Dave always gave everything his best. He approached life with a work ethic that was unmatched, but he also knew how to enjoy it. He had a passion for skiing, traveling, and, of course, golf. We will never forget those two hole-in-ones one at Saucon Valley Country Club — a true testament to his focus and love for the game.
Perhaps what we will all remember most about Dave is the way he made people feel. He was a devoted husband and survived by his wife Helen, a loving father to his children — Thomas, Craig and Kelli Humphrey, Ellen and Paul McManus, and a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren — Cooper, Tatum, Hatcher, Parker, Will, and Zach. Dave’s family was the center of his life, and he found immense joy in watching them grow. He was also a friend to all who knew him, always bringing warmth and laughter into every room. In his later years, surrounded by the love of family and friends, Dave spent his time doing what he loved: golfing, meeting new people, and soaking in the joy of life.
Dave was a man who could truly say, “I have had a good life.” So, raise a glass to that truth. Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy — his warmth, his laughter, and his love — will live on in all of us. Here’s to Dave, a life well-lived, full of good memories, great friends, and cherished moments. May we all live with the same spirit, grace, and joy that he did.
A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
