Obituary For David L. Reed

David Lawrence Reed, age 78, passed away peacefully on his birthday being April 2nd of 2024. He was born April 2nd of 1946 in Toledo, Ohio. David married his high school sweetheart, Betty Reed in 1969.

David served in the Army alongside his brother. He was an avid sports fan; his teams consisting of The Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State buckeyes, and The Red Wings. His passion was camping for many decades at Pleasant View campground. He was a hard worker, retiring at GM after 35 years, nicknamed hockey puck. David was known for being a jokester; with his quick sarcasm, he would make the whole room laugh. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and an attentive grandfather. He will be greatly missed and was loved by many.

David is survived by his two daughters; Renee (Fred) Artiaga and Michele (Scott) Willis; Grandkids, Ashley (Ian) Artiaga, Jesse (Rita) Artiaga, Samantha (Wes) Cerveny, Tayler (Vinny) Cerveny, Kayleigh (Reed) Artiaga, Hunter Sterling, Reece Nichols, Chandler Nichols; great grandkids, Ethan, Justyn, Emmett, Amia, Isaac, Otto, Alaya, Ellie, Carter, Phoenix, Everick , Aliza, Myles, and Ivy; sisters, Sharon Miller, Vicki Arney, Judy (Mike) Snyder, and Mary (Joe) Adkins. David was preceded in death by parents, Victor and Gertrude; wife, Betty Reed; son, Brian Reed; brother, Denny Reed; sister-in-law, Peggy Reed; brother-in-law, Gene Leonard; and grandson, Cameron Sterling.

Friends will be welcomed at Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Avenue (419-691-6768) on Saturday, April 6th, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM. Online condolences may be left at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
