Carol Marie Calabrese, age 82, of Maumee, OH, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024. Born on October 1, 1942, in Fremont, OH, to Paul and Celeste (Ratt) Hauck, Carol lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around her.

Carol’s love for cooking was well-known, as she frequently prepared meals for her neighbors, embodying the spirit of community and care. Her dedication to helping others extended to her many years of volunteering at a local soup kitchen, where she prepared and served meals to those less fortunate.

In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed quilting, painting, glass work and reading. She also had a passion for travel, exploring destinations both domestic and international with her sister and friends. Some of her favorite travels included trips to Mexico, Jerusalem, and Medjugorje.

Carol’s warm heart and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered as a genuinely kind lady by all who met her.

She is survived by her children, Annette Calabrese, Theresa Buehler, and Salvatore Calabrese; granddaughter, Jessica (Chris) DiSante; siblings, Barb, Tom, Pat and Kathy; and canine companion, Tony. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Salvatore Calabrese; and siblings, Donna and Lamar.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5-8 pm and Friday, October 25, 2024, from 10:30-11:30 am at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:30 am in the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:30 pm- 2:00 pm at the Maumee Elks Lodge.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Community Center or Toledo Area Humane Society.
