Obituaries

Carl “Ike” Eisenhauer, age 89, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Toledo Hospital with his loving family by his side. Ike was born on September 6, 1934, in Monroe, MI to Carl and Dorothy (Hoeszle) Eisenhauer. He was a pharmacist for many years at different locations including Lane’s Drug, Toledo Health and Retiree, and lastly overseeing many K-Mart Pharmacies. Ike was very active at St. James Lutheran Church with his wife, Barbara, whom he celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage to before her passing in 2023.

Together, Ike and Barbara loved fishing on Lake Erie and their yearly trip to the cabin in northern Michigan. They also loved traveling together, some of their favorites were Egypt, Panama, and Caribbean Cruises. Ike was a skilled woodworker and refinished or designed a lot of the furniture in their family’s home as well as designing clocks which he created especially for each of his children. He loved playing cards, especially Five Crowns, with the family and enjoyed the occasional glass of wine or long island iced tea.

Ike is survived by his children, Cindy (Duane) Homan, Carl (Michelle) Eisenhauer, Linda Curtis; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Diane Kaiser) Eisenhauer; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and countless friends and his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 24, 2024 beginning at 9 a.m., until the time of Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
