Obituary For Brooks M. Bohland

Brooks Michael Bohland “Brooksie” passed on to Heaven on October 20, 2024, at the very young age of 7. Brooks was born in Oregon, Ohio on March 8, 2017, to his parents Nicholas and April (Brady) Bohland. He attended second grade at Highland Elementary School in Sylvania, Ohio. His precious life impacted so many and he was a positive influence at home, in school, on the ice and in the community.

Brooksie was charming, lovable, kind, creative and smart. He was helpful, sociable, and made friends with everyone he met. Brooks always spread love and joy to everyone around him.

Last Spring Brooks was nominated to be a Highland Hero at school. Highland Heroes recognizes students that emulate Highland Elementary rules; Be Kind; Be Safe and Be Focused and values of being Honest, Empathetic, Resilient, Outstanding, Engaged/Enthusiastic and Solve Problems. Brooks was elected a Highland Hero for consistently demonstrating focus, kindness, engagement and respect with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.

Brooks loved fishing in the neighborhood pond, running around outside in his socks, swimming, jumping on trampolines, rollerblading, playing mini sticks, and loved creating art. Brooks was always happy and smiling everywhere he went.

Brooks was energetic and loved to play sports and being around all his friends. Brooks’ favorite sports were baseball, basketball and hockey. He was always cheering on his teammates and if someone got hurt, he was the first to make sure they were ok. He excelled at hockey, and recently made the Jr. Walleye/Sylvania North Stars travel hockey team.

Storing up every memory as a treasure in their hearts are Brooks’s parents, Nicholas and April Bohland; brothers, Connor and Maxwell Bohland; grandparents, Debbie and Marty (Mimi and Papa) Bohland; Connie and Mike (Mamaw and Papaw) Brady; aunts, Rachael (Bobby) Harding, Crystal (Rodney) Smith; uncles, Christopher (Laura) Bohland; cousins, Sebastian Harding, Aaliyah Schryer, Chase Smith, Dawson Bohland, Carson Bohland, Reed Smith and Benson Bohland. Brooksie will also be missed by the many friends, teachers and coaches that made such a positive and loving impact on his all too short life.

Brooks will be missed by all, but his spirit will remain in the hearts of all he touched.

A visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave.) on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at Walker Funeral Home starting at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, followed by a procession for one last trip by Tamoshanter. Immediately following the procession, a memorial service to honor Brooksie will be held at Five Lakes Church (4255 Mitchaw Rd.) at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
