Betty A. Dowell, age 83, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Center. Born on August 22, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to Sadie (Hartzel) and Fred Miller, Betty lived a life full of love and dedication.

Before her retirement, Betty worked as a legal secretary, a role in which she excelled and took great pride. In her leisure time, she found joy in knitting and crocheting, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Betty was a faithful member of the Rossford United Methodist Church, where she formed many cherished friendships and contributed to her community.

Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Janet (Victor) McClain of Toledo, and her son, Jeff Dowell of Bakersfield, CA. She was a proud grandmother to Alex (Michelle Lettman) McClain and Sydney Dowell. Betty also leaves behind her dear sister, Vivian (Edward) Michaels, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special niece Pam Sheldrick and nephew Joel Michaels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie and Fred Miller, six brothers, and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Center, 5340 Harroun Rd, Sylvania, Ohio 43560 or the Rossford United Methodist Church, 270 Dixie Hwy, Rossford, Ohio 43460.

Funeral services will be private, and burial will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
