Andrew “Andy” Heckerd, 61, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on August 13, 2024 surrounded by family. Andy was born in Bucyrus, OH on May 10, 1963. He is survived in death by his daughters Linsey Heckerd and Olivia (Michael) Heckerd, life partner Barb Mitchell, mother Ann Heckerd, brothers Barry (Diane) Heckerd, Ted (Dawn) Heckerd, Pat (Darby) Heckerd, and sister Shelly Heckerd, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Andy was a devoted family man and friend. He loved being a father and could be seen at many events supporting his daughters. His favorite pastimes included playing euchre and poker with those he loved most and making everyone he was playing with laugh. He enjoyed working with his hands, could fix almost anything, and was a skilled carpenter for over thirty years. Lover of adventure and the outdoors, Andy and Barb spent many hours camping all over Ohio and beyond. Andy spent a lot of time fishing, bowling and watching Nascar but it is no secret his favorite hobby was cheering on the Rams. He was a proud member of the Eagles and the Elks for many years, as well as a social member of the VFW.

Andy wore his heart on his sleeve and would have done anything for anyone. To honor his memory, please consider becoming an organ donor. There will be a celebration of life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2295 in Port Clinton, OH on Saturday, September 21st from 1pm-9pm with a memorial service being held at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Andy Heckerd Memorial Fund or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
